Bridge Closure Opens Doors to Coworking?

Recently we caught wind of an infrastructure setback that’s affecting tens of thousands of commuters in the midwest. The Sherman Minton Bridge, a main thoroughfare for commuters between southern Indiana and northern Kentucky, was recently closed due to cracks found in it’s structure. The impact? For the next 6+ months, professionals who work across the river will be faced with unfamiliar detours and commutes that are double, triple, or even quadruple their normal length.

Organizations on both side of the river have been affected — Local businesses are encouraging their employees to shift their work schedules to avoid rush hour traffic, and others are allowing their employees to work from home. And while remote work arrangements will keep cars off of the road, for many, working from home presents challenges of its own. Productivity, isolation, and lack of routine are all perils of the home-based employee (and are concerns for employers, too).

Our solution? Allow these employees to work in Loosecubes in their own community. By doing so, everyone wins. Companies on both sides of the river can play host to each other’s employees and provide them with a convenient and productive place to work, not to mention gain fresh perspectives on their projects, network with relevant professionals, and even make new friends. It’s not just goodwill, it’s good business.

If you’re still not sold on the benefits of coworking, find out more here.  If opening up your office to other professionals sounds interesting, find out more about hosting here. We have a feeling once members of these communities have experienced coworking, they will continue sharing workspace, ideas, and innovation — even after the bridge reopens.
